Dukedom is a school in Ireland. It's a turning point where evil is becoming stronger and the handful of good sorcerers and sorceresses can no longer keep things under control. Evil magic has been breaking out all over Ireland in attacks on innocent and good people by witches and wizards and the Witches' Knot, an ancient symbol used by the Irish to ward off evil, is no longer able to keep up with everything. Even though the Witches' Knot is a power not a person, it has decided to pass its power down to students to create a stronger good force to keep Ireland safe. You're now being trained to fight evil, but some may eventually stray to the dark side. As of now, you'll learn many different magics when used all together will carry out the original intents of the Witches' Knot.
There are four houses:
Doormeh; snarky, rude, and mostly self-focused but strong allies if on your side COLORS: white and orange
Estenbough; smart, level-headed, generally happy COLORS: silver and red
Zelast; very shy and quiet, keeps mostly to themselves or small group of friends COLORS: gold and blue
Murontok; stubborn, brave, outgoing COLORS: black and green
You should take at least one class and will need a certain number of posts to advance to the next level of power. (Mage, advanced mage, complish, sorcerer/soceress)
There are no wands, but as a starting mage, you will need an object close to you and will be equipped with a magical entity from the Witches' Knot until you become powerful enough to draw magic directly from it.
Dukedom is a boarding school of sorts in a low-laying valley of Ireland. On its grounds there is a forest filled with shamrocks, a giant bog/pond, looming mountains, and the rest of the valley.
You can join a sport called dribenshaft which is a combination of capture the flag and flag football. You can take various classes to learn to fight, heal, about spells and languages, and learn about plants and animals.
Number of members: 9 as of 1/17/07
This site speaks of a growing evil in Ireland. It's possible that students (once graduated) may become this evil forces! As of now, it's more of something happening away from Dukedom and you have preparation for that. Currently only one member is near being an Advanced Mage so we won't worry about that yet.
